The DM, or dual
module, chimney system is a component based chimney
system that has an inner liner and external
casing. The modular design of this system
allows for more diverse, lightweight chimney
installations for fireplaces and other applications.
Isokern DM chimney components are built with tongue
and groove construction, enabling a tighter fit for
maximum safety and consistent installation.
The tongue and groove construction also makes the
propensity for false chimneys (in the actual chimney
structure) non-existent. The DM System is also 100% zero clearance for
construction purposes.
The absence of
co-efficiency makes our chimney system especially
desirable in cold weather climates as it is not
prone to cracking. Traditional masonry and metal
stack chimney systems (which have different types of
material and therefore co-efficiency exists) do crack and
deflect, which results in the home or business owner
having to replace or repair their chimney system.
All of the Isokern DM
Chimney components are tested and listed to UL103HT.
The Isokern Fireplace and Chimney System is also
tested and listed to ULC S610.

Made from the same high quality insulating pumice stone as Isokern DM chimney components, the Isokern offset block component offers the ability to move vertical chimneys from side to side
to pass objects above the firebox. It is always
preferred to build a vertical chimney for maximum draft performance; however, this may not be feasible with current architectural designs.
The offset blocks may be moved in various directions, but always allowing the angled hole to be smooth and clear. Offsetting
at the top plate of the firebox is the preferred method so as to allow the
speed of smoke to more quickly reach vertical travel for best draft.
Once the offset cantilevers off the side of the firebox
by three or more, it must be supported by a grouted column block or anchored steel columns.
The offset block measures 25" x 21.5" x 6" in height.
They are monolithic in construction with angled centers.
Each offset block allows for up to 3" of horizontal
movement.
ALWAYS consult with your local distributor/dealer for proper installation instructions, and to discuss project specific guidelines.

The Isokern brickledge is a proprietary component that is supported by the DM chimney components. The Isokern brickledge component is
uniquely designed to allow a brick or stone finished chimney to exit out the roof for interior fireplace installations. It eliminates the
cost of having excess masonry carried down the footer.
A brickledge can be used in almost any interior application where masonry above a roof is desired. This allows for a typical 3 x 3 foot or 4 x 4 foot
wide chimney profile. The brickledge measures 31.5" x 31.5" x 3" and is
reinforced. Refer to your local building codes or your architect
prior to installation to make calculations for providing adequate footers for additional weights.
Please consult with your builder, sales representative or local dealer for more specific information pertaining to proper installation, larger dimensions
and application use.
