The EPA Wood-Burning Fireplace Program Qualified system is a prefabricated, refractory modular fireplace designed for field assembly. 

The system consists of:

  • Interlocking precast parts which are glued together with a masonry adhesive.
  • DM 54 or Metal Chimney system.  Requires an In-Line or Chimney Top Damper.
  • Clean Burning Catalytic Combustor technology.

The Catalytic Combustor system should be replaced at a minimum of 3 years, maximum of 5 years.

The EPA Catalytic Converter will have a tag  (see left) attached to the insert for verification of authenticity. This tag should be kept in the homeowners' files along with the Installation Manual.
